Prof. Bernd Carsten Stahl

Professor Bernd Carsten Stahl, the director of the centre, is a Professor of Critical Research in Technology in the CCSR. He holds four Masters Degrees in Philosophy, Economics, Industrial Engineering and Business Law as well as a PhD in Information Systems. An internationally recognised scholar in ethics and ICT, he is widely published and active across the fields of computer ethics, information systems and critical research. Professor Stahl serves the academic community in a variety of roles. He was Editor-in-Chief International Journal of Technology and Human Interaction (IJTHI) (2004 – 2009) where he still serves as associate editor. He is also associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing (since 2010), the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) (since 2008) and the International Journal of Doctoral Studies (IJDS) (since 2006). He has contributed to a range of conferences.

He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, the International Information Management Association and the UK Higher Education Academy and a Member of the International Federation for Information Processing (WG 8.2(, the Association for Information Systems, the United Kingdom Academy for Information Systems and the European Business Ethics Network.
