Dr. Sara Wilford

Sara’s background is multi-disciplinary, and includes a degree in Public Administration and Management, and a PhD in Computing Ethics and Public Policy.  She was previously involved in the PHM Ethics (Personalized Health Monitoring Ethics) the IdeGov projects. Sara was Science, Technology and Public Policy Fellow in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University which considered e-rulemaking and where she was a contributor to the UN World Public Sector Report 2003 ‘e-government at the crossroads’. She has subsequently undertaken a range of public policy and technology focused research including the "The Electronic City" within the frame of the EU-Fellowship. Programme "Future Urban Research in Europe" project. She is currently the book reviews editor for the Journal of Information, Communication & Ethics in Society.

Her previous work has been chiefly in the field of Public Policy, which in recent years has focused on health policy and PPI (Patient and Public Involvement).  Whilst working within the NHS Centre for Involvement at the University of Warwick, she both led and participated in a number of projects to evaluate PPI in English NHS Trusts and has recently completed an extensive evaluation of Liverpool PCT which considered PPI within End of Life Care.
