Dr. Eija Kaasinen

Dr. Eija Kaasinen (Dr.Tech) is a Research Coordinator at VTT, being in charge of Human- Technology Interaction research activities. She has over 10 year’s expertise of software engineering and project management in industry. At VTT Eija Kaasinen has lead human centred design activities within several European and national research projects. She has published scientific articles on human-technology interaction, user acceptance of new technologies and human-centred design. Eija Kaasinen was a WP leader in EC-funded integrated project MINAmI (Micro-Nano integrated platform for traverse Ambient Intelligence applications, 2006-2009) that was developing a mobile phone based ambient intelligence platform and applications. In MINAmI project she was in charge of human centred design approach in the project as well as ethical issues. Currently she is working in

Finnish projects that are focused on user involvement in service innovation and co-creation of cloud computing services. Her research interests include developing human-centred design practices, extending human-centred design approach into new technology areas and developing user-driven innovation methods.
